Mummy's Wish

The charity 'Mummy's Wish' aims to help ease the burden of mothers suffering from cancer.

When attending a Little Feet Baby Market you have the opportunity of purchasing a balloon in support of Mummy's Wish. So Please come along and purchase some balloons or give a cash donation so we can help this wonderful charity help mothers with cancer.

The founder of Mummy's Wish, Bernadette Vella, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma just 14 weeks into her second pregnancy. Bernadette called her charity Mummy's Wish because her wish is that there should be no need for such a charity to exist.

Mummy's Wish seeks to help others in similar situations and so that is their mission - to ease the burden of cancer diagnosis on mothers of young children.

"When mums first come to Mummy's Wish, they are visited and given a treat bag full of goodies to brighten their day. Some of these things make the journey with cancer a little easier (such as a notebook to help with memory loss from chemotherapy) however most of the treats are just to make the mums feel good (like a nice new toiletries bag to use in hospital or a magazine to read). Being diagnosed with cancer when pregnant or caring for a young family is devastating and we hope that the treat bags help add a little sunshine at an otherwise bleak time."

If you would like to donate and can not make it to a market visit www.mummyswish.org.au for more information.
